In the past I’ve spent some time thinking about how to capture the idea of ‘wind’ with the camera. Blowing hair; yeah. Blowing trees; been done. Well, I had extra time to think about it the other night as I laid awake at 4:30AM in the midst of a particularly loud windstorm. When the winds hit about 40 or so my 3rd floor condo shakes. More specifically, my bed physically moves, making sleeping challenging. While I like the idea of my bed rocking, it usually doesn’t help me fall asleep until after the rocking has stopped. And in this case it didn’t stop for 12 hours. What a session! So in the meantime, I went out at dawn and shot pictures of the commuters driving into Boulder through 70mph gusts of blowing snow. We sure are having a pretty epic winter in terms of weather here in Colorado.
