So I’m spending a Saturday night updating code and SEO functionality of my blogs. Hmm, I guess that makes it two nerd posts in a row. Don’t know what that means, well, it means that the URL of my blog posts now no longer has the date in it, it only has the words in the post title. Weeeeee.

Camera Nerd Party

When you go to a photography convention, there is a lot of inherent nerdy-ness in the air. Fortunately there is a prominent amount of libations that balance this out. But sometimes, these two worlds collide with unpredictable results. First, someone brings a Ray Ring Flash to a party. Second, someone (me) brings a Canon G10 to a party. Third, someone says, “Hmm, what would happen if you put the ring flash on the G10?” Now you know. What is still unknown is who actually took these pictures, because I don’t remember. But I found them on my camera so they are mine now. Finders keepers losers weepers.

Great day for some January Cruisin’

Well as soon as I got back from Phoenix I promplty got a sore throat. There was just too much fun to be had in such a short period of time, so I had to skimp on sleep. So I paid the price. Fortunately I’m feeling better and I got out for a little cruising around town. How epic has the weather been? Today was the 5 day in a row of 60+ degrees. The official high at NCAR was 71.4. A perfect day to take The Ride out for a cruise. What a sexy beast she is.

Desert Landscape Images

I know, I’ve been a bad blogger. I had grand plans to step it up and get back on track, a New Year resolution of sorts. But I didn’t. So sorry. I’m going to make up for lost time and post a post that differs from the usual Colorado scenery.

I went to my second Digital Wedding Forum Convention in Phoenix Arizona last week. It was really inspirational. Again. It’s super cool to hang out with a group that is as passionate about their work as I am.

I’ve never been farther south in Arizona than Sedona. I was quite surprised at the beauty in the Phoenix area. The saguaro cactus rule the landscape. They are quite majestic and impressive.

I have a new respect for Arizona mountain bikers. Crashing is part of the mountain biking game; everyone hits the dirt once in a while. I thought landing on Rocky Mountain rocks was bad. How would you like to take a dive into this brush?!

Starting off 2009 the right way, in the saddle

It’s a new year and the perfect time to set some new goals. This year I’m going to make an effort to get into some fightin’ shape on the bike. I took advantage of the mild temperatures by putting in 2 hours in on the bike today.
The light was stellar, and it was a perfect day to snap a couple shots with my new Canon G10. It hard to believe that the RAW files from my pocket camera are actually larger then my Nikon D700!
