John Butler Trio - Concert Photography in Denver Colorado
In celebration of a holiday weekend, I went to see a concert by a band that I hadn’t heard of. The John Butler Trio played at the Ogden Theater in Denver this Friday and Saturday. I was pretty blown away. John rocks it out, lead soloing on a 12 string acoustic, playing slide lap guitar, and yelling into the pickups on the guitar for vocal effects. Some of his songs are very Ben Harperish, which is not a bad thing. I’m a fan now, and definitely want to check out his albums. The backlit, smokey stage lighting was making me wish I had my camera with me, but my camera phone actually produced some cool flare effects in the photos.
