Photo Gallery - Bob Schneider at the Gothic Theater, Denver, Colorado
Bob Schneider Band Photo Gallery
Anyone who knows me well knows that Bob Schneider is currently my favorite musician. He rolled into Denver on June 2, 2007 and rocked out the Gothic Theater. I was playing with my low light lens, the Canon 50mm f1.4. It lets in a ton of light, but man is getting a moving target in focus a challenge. I’ve also found that the lens is useless with my Canon 5D. The corners of the lens are so soft that it only works well with my 20D, which crops the outside of the frame. But I digress.
This is my 5th or so time seeing Bob. Bruce Hughes (bass) and Jeff Plankenhorn (lead guitar) were back, but the show lacked keyboards the the drummer is brand new. Derek Morris (keyboards) is reportedly successfully recovering from a brain tumor. I’ve lost track of the drummer situation as this is the second new one in a year or so. Unfortunately, I felt the show suffered from these setbacks, and felt a little straightforward. I only detected a couple new songs, and I don’t really remember any memorable covers. I think catching the new drummer up to speed meant learning the most important current songs first. The show was still great as all Bob shows are, and new listeners had a great time. I haven’t gotten a hold of the live Frunk from the show, so maybe future listens will prove me wrong. What was cool was seeing Bob pick up the slack by playing the keyboard, drums, shakey banana, and keyboard flute thing. Enjoy the photos!

Yeah, I hate it when the corners of my lens are too soft and don’t work with my 5D…that totally blows man. Almost as bad as when my external intercostal membrane fails to be innervated by the medial pectoral nerve. Seriously.
Hey Steve-ala… I just looked at these amazing photos… He has grown up a little since I saw him last… Cut his hair and all… I am stilll moving out there. Will close hopefully in mid july. This has been its own lesson of patience for me..What hell, right up to the end…
