Where for art thou Blogger?
Hi, my name is Steve, remember me? I used to blog here every day, up until a few weeks ago. Things got seriously crazy at the end of May and I was blessed/cursed with a lot of work to do. I shot two weddings, went to Aspen for 5 days, got a job shooting kids sports, have been doing bike repairs out of my garage, doing bicycle engineering consulting, and celebrating my birthday. Plus the Tour of Italy is going on right now. I still have a lot of photo editing to catch up on, but I will try and post some of the pics here on the site.
The good news is my photography career is really starting to take off. The bad news is that when I get busy the blog is awfully easy to procrastinate. I’ll take some pics on the cruiser ride tonight to try and make it up to you.
Boulder Cruiser Ride Photos
HERE ARE SOME PICS from the Thursday Boulder Cruiser Ride from this last week. Actually the last two are from a couple weeks ago that I never posted. I’ve been too busy to really post a whole bunch of pics from the ride so far this year.
This past week’s ride was really fun, although some probably thought that it was a little too hilly. The funniest part for me was witnessing a big crash and subsequent disintegration of a Kinetics type craft. After climbing to the highest point on Bluff, this big wheeled, 2 person contraption started heading downhill only to immediately crash into the side of an SUV and explode into pieces. Here is a great picture of the driver scoping out the damage to the car!

I got a parking ticket at the JeffCo Dinosaur Lots the day of the Ski Jam. I was pretty annoyed, since half of the lots are closed for construction and all the spots were taken. It’s not like you really have much choice if you had predetermined that your group was carpooling from that location.
Anyway, I’ve been trying to implement the teachings of The Secret and The Law Of Attraction to bring more wealth into my life. I can see this work is paying off, as I just got an unexpected check! Hopefully I can work on the magnitude a bit in the coming months.
How ’bout the 32.6 cents they spent on that postage?
First Comes Love, Next Comes Marriage, Then Steve Z in a Baby Carriage
Things have really been cranking on the wedding front these days. I will be assisting two wedding photographers this summer as well as shooting some of my own weddings. My first two of the season will be this weekend as well as Memorial Day weekend. The first one is in Aspen, which should be pretty sweet.
I took all these photos in the last week, practicing up on the skills while not actually attending any weddings. Check out the PHOTO GALLERY HERE.
The Homeless Groom, “Will Wed For Food”
So one of the things that I’ve been very busy working on is my wedding portfolio. I did a photo shoot for my newlywed neighbors this past Thursday. I rented a tuxedo for Jon, who happens to be exactly the same size as me. When I found out that I was going to have the tux for all of Friday, I called up Steve G to look for some photo inspiration. Being a wacky guy himself, I knew we could come up with something entertaining. Oh, BTW, the shoot was amazing! Perfect light, pretty people …
So Steve G and Steve Z headed out to the intersection of Baseline and 27th Way with some cardboard signs that I made. I have always wondered what it would be like to pan-handle. I’ll admit, I was a little intrigued at the thought of some easy spending $$$. But I was a little let down when I realized that 85% of the drivers out there are really no fun at all. Personally I thought what I was doing was pretty damn funny, yet still most people wouldn’t even acknowledge my presence. Additionally, I’m pretty sure I was responsible for causing a mild fender bender, when an SUV stopped short then the SUV behind her rammed into the back of her. Oops. Sorry.
Overall though, it was a pretty entertaining way to spend an hour. I made a few people laugh, so that’s what’s important. Hopefully you are laughing at my dumb ass right now. I’m not going to be pounding the streets anytime soon though. Maybe it would be more lucrative if I looked more pathetic and needy? The $2.27 and a bag of potato chips that I scored was pretty sweet, well, maybe not that sweet. The shot of the potato chip handoff via mini-van IS priceless, you have to admit!

Daily Photo - Wedding Season

I’ve been preparing to shoot a bunch of weddings this year. I have two at the end of the month, including one in Aspen. That should be a good time, it has been almost 10 years since I’ve been there. I just dropped big dollar$ on a 70-200 2.8 IS lens for the occasions. Ouch! Anyway, these shoes are Manolo Blahnick shoes. Apparently they cost $850!
I’ll bet this car is even faster than a souped up Civic
OK I didn’t take this photo either, but damn, I think this is funny. I have my own idea for a ghetto-rific spoiler. I want to take a snowboard deck and mount it upside down above the rear trunk of an early 80’s Toyota Corolla. Hey, we can all have our dreams.

Or maybe you have, she’s kinda famous around here.
