Keystone Mountain has added something new for the 2006 mountain biking season: the Drop Zone. The Drop Zone has four different expert-only “alleys” or drops that provide lots of airtime, challenge and exhilaration for adrenaline seekers.

The first drop features three ramps ranging from a small 5-foot drop to a big 14-foot drop that allows bikers to launch themselves up to 22 feet in the air. The second alley offers a natural rock drop with a natural take off and a narrow, wooden landing squeezed between the trees. The third alley starts off with a natural rock garden with a talus field at the top and two jumps at the bottom. And, the fourth and final alley launches you off a North Shore jump straight into the air and ends with a G-out (a natural landscape feature that tilts and is shaped like a berm before shooting you down a steep landing)

Keystone has 39 trails, giving riders 59 miles of single track on the mountain that are all served by a high-speed quad lift. This is the 15th season of on-mountain biking at Keystone. Along with the new Drop Zone, the resort is also hoping to build three new downhill trails this season. For more, stop by www.keystoneresort.com
